We all need words of encouragement in hard times.
Losing a loved one, rocky marriages, breakups, financial issues—the list goes on.
One of the worst feelings is to feel as if the world stopped moving, only to find out it never did.
Even though over 7 billion people live on the planet, you feel as if you’re the only one going through it.
Deep down; we know we are not the first to struggle in life, nor will we be the last.
My life is crumbling, and you want me to be rational? Let’s get real.
Is there a limit to how many days we can stay in our pajamas? How many tubs of ice cream do we eat until back to normal?

But, in all seriousness, how do we pick ourselves up and move forward?
We move forward through prayer, fasting, healthy support systems, and words of encouragement.
5 Bible Verses for When You Need Encouragement
Isaiah 54:17
No weapon that is formed against thee shall prosper; and every tongue that shall rise against thee in judgment thou shalt condemn. This is the heritage of the servants of the Lord, and their righteousness is of me, saith the Lord.
God never said we wouldn’t have weapons and judgments brought up against us. No, believers will face trials and tribulations. But God also tells us that the weapons formed against us will fail. See, the enemy enjoys when we get distracted and grow weary. But God is already there, waiting to lift us and redirect our path.
We may struggle to find a resolution for our problems. But never forget, God has it all figured out.
Jeremiah 29:11
For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the Lord, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end.
Similar to how God controlled Judah’s exile and restoration, He also delivers the trials we face and provide us with the endurance we need to get through them. When we experience hardships, it is easy for us to forget that God controls everything.
Seek Him wholeheartedly. He hears your cries and is always there to comfort and heal you.
When You Need Encouragement: John 14:27
Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.
During our despair, it is hard to remember that this life on earth, the things in it, and the tribulations we face will eventually fade away. We shouldn’t put much thought into the world, for the things of this world cannot give us the peace we need. Instead, we must look to our Father during difficult times, because only He can provide us comfort amid our trials.
Philippians 4:13
I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me.
We attempt to resolve our problems, but quickly give up when the journey becomes too difficult. When we try to go at it alone, we are facing the enemy alone. We do not fight with flesh and blood. We fight against evil spirits.
Remember to put on the full armor of God and lean on His mighty power. And, we need not worry for God will see us through.
Need Encouragement: Read Psalm 139:14
I will praise thee; for I am fearfully and wonderfully made: marvellous are thy works; and that my soul knoweth right well.
God is omnipresent, omnipotent, and omniscient—nothing limits Him. We cannot hide from God. Wherever you go, he is already there. It’s easy to think that you’re all alone as you battle your hardships, but God knows everything that happens to us. And while our thoughts are finite, God’s knowledge is immeasurable, and His actions are intentional.
Never forget that He knows you more than you know yourself, and He made you with a purpose.
